Elon Musk talked about the future of human space flight in advance of his company's planned November 30, 2011, flight to the International Space Station. In his speech he announced his company's plan to develop a fully- and rapidly- reusable launch rocket. He said that reusable rockets can pose a tough engineering problem, but Space X is going to try to do it and said the company has a "design that works on paper."
